Wet Rod Mill
Wet rod mills grind coarse feed with long steel rods in open circuit. They serve as primary grinding units before ball mills or gravity circuits. The rod-on-rod line contact shatters brittle particles while sparing fines.
Technical parameters
This machine sits between the crushing and classification stages. Its uniform discharge suits gravity concentration and magnetic separation flowsheets where slimes are detrimental.

Standard-model catalogue figures. Actual capacity, power draw and wear life shift with ore properties, feed gradation and circuit conditions. Use them to shortlist, then confirm the duty by testwork, flowsheet calculation and a written confirmation from the manufacturer.
What decides the selection
Before selecting a wet rod mill, define the ore's Bond work index, the maximum feed size from the crusher, and the target product P80. Evaluate ore abrasion characteristics and whether the circuit will be open or closed with classifying equipment. These inputs determine the required drum dimensions and installed power.
