Gold Extraction Equipment

Carbon Regeneration Furnace

The carbon regeneration furnace thermally reactivates spent activated carbon after gold has been eluted. It restores the carbon's pore structure and surface activity so it can be reused in the CIP or CIL adsorption circuit.

Technical parameters

Installed downstream of the elution column, the furnace reheats carbon that has lost adsorptive capacity due to fouling. The regenerated carbon is quenched and returned to the circuit, reducing fresh carbon consumption and waste.

The five models are distinguished primarily by maximum daily processing capacity and installed heating power. Drum dimensions and rotation speed also scale with capacity. Matching the furnace to your site's average daily carbon elution volume ensures steady-state operation without under- or over-sizing the regeneration circuit.

Standard-model catalogue figures. Actual capacity, power draw and wear life shift with ore properties, feed gradation and circuit conditions. Use them to shortlist, then confirm the duty by testwork, flowsheet calculation and a written confirmation from the manufacturer.

What decides the selection

Before selecting a model, define the daily mass of carbon to be regenerated, the carbon activity loss profile from your specific ore, and the available site electrics. The regeneration furnace must integrate with the elution column's batch size and cycle time, so a mass balance around the carbon loop is the critical starting point.
