Gold Extraction Equipment
Carbon Adsorption Column
The carbon adsorption column contacts gold-bearing cyanide solution with activated carbon in multiple stages. Carbon moves counter-current to the solution, adsorbing gold. It operates in CIP and CIL circuits after leaching and before carbon separation.
Technical parameters
After adsorption, loaded carbon is transferred to elution for gold recovery. The column design provides sufficient contact time while managing carbon attrition. It handles variations in flow and gold tenor.
The 14 models in the table differ in tower dimensions, carbon load, and adsorption liquid volume. Larger columns suit higher solution throughput or longer contact time. Selecting a model involves matching these parameters to the required carbon inventory and hydraulic capacity of the adsorption circuit.

Standard-model catalogue figures. Actual capacity, power draw and wear life shift with ore properties, feed gradation and circuit conditions. Use them to shortlist, then confirm the duty by testwork, flowsheet calculation and a written confirmation from the manufacturer.
What decides the selection
Before choosing a model, define the design solution flow rate, gold tenor, and required contact time. Carbon inventory targets and available head within the circuit also influence choice. Site conditions such as layout, liquid supply pressure, and carbon transfer method further narrow the suitable range.
