XC I Hydrocyclone
The XC I hydrocyclone classifies slurries in wet mineral processes. It uses centrifugal force to separate fine and coarse particles, producing an overflow of fines and an underflow of coarse material for regrind or further processing.
Technical parameters
Installed in closed-circuit grinding, it receives mill discharge and returns oversize to the mill while sending correctly sized material downstream. It also handles desliming and dewatering duties where a sharp cut is required.
The parameter table lists seven XC I models. The naming convention, illustrated by XCI150, reflects approximate body diameter. Across the range, processing capacity and port dimensions increase, while the characteristic cut size shifts correspondingly. Use feed pressure, slurry density, and target overflow fineness to narrow choices.

Standard-model catalogue figures. Actual capacity, power draw and wear life shift with ore properties, feed gradation and circuit conditions. Use them to shortlist, then confirm the duty by testwork, flowsheet calculation and a written confirmation from the manufacturer.
What decides the selection
To select a model, confirm the feed solids content, particle size distribution, and target cut point. Determine the required slurry throughput and available head for inlet pressure. Assess abrasion and corrosion properties of the slurry, as these influence material choices. The final model is matched to these process conditions, with parallel units considered for larger flows.
