Feeding Equipment

Pendulum Feeder

The pendulum feeder discharges dry ore from a bin through an oscillating plate. An eccentric mechanism drives the plate in a reciprocating arc. It provides a steady, adjustable feed for free-flowing materials.

Technical parameters

Placed below a hopper, it meters ore onto a conveyor or into a crusher. This controls the load on downstream units and prevents blockages from uneven flow. Stroke and speed settings match the feeder to the ore.

The table lists three models differing in feed opening size, discharge opening, eccentric stroke, and throughput capacity. A larger feed opening accommodates coarser feed and higher tonnage. Stroke and swing frequency are tuned to the material. Engineers should look first at the required feed rate and maximum lump size.

Standard-model catalogue figures. Actual capacity, power draw and wear life shift with ore properties, feed gradation and circuit conditions. Use them to shortlist, then confirm the duty by testwork, flowsheet calculation and a written confirmation from the manufacturer.

What decides the selection

Before fixing a model, confirm the ore’s bulk density, moisture content, and maximum particle size. The feeder suits dry, free-flowing material. Check the bin outlet dimensions and the required feed range. The downstream equipment, whether a crusher or conveyor, dictates acceptable feed variation. Match the feeder’s stroke and speed to the material’s flow character.
