Mine Automation and Control Systems
Belt Sampler
The belt sampler is a cross-belt mechanical device that automatically extracts incremental samples from a moving conveyor. It swings a bucket through the full material stream at timed intervals, collecting a representative cut for laboratory or on-stream analysis.
Technical parameters
It sits directly above the conveyor in the mine’s automation control circuit. By delivering consistent, unbiased samples without manual intervention, it supports accurate grade reconciliation and helps detect process shifts early.
The parameter table covers two standard models, such as WYL-PT-500 and WYL-PT-800. Equipment dimensions and belt size correspond to different conveyor widths. Bucket opening and material particle size define the maximum lump that can be sampled. Motor power, frequency, and sampling interval time vary with duty requirements.

Standard-model catalogue figures. Actual capacity, power draw and wear life shift with ore properties, feed gradation and circuit conditions. Use them to shortlist, then confirm the duty by testwork, flowsheet calculation and a written confirmation from the manufacturer.
What decides the selection
Confirming a model requires the belt width, material top size, and target sample mass per increment. The sampling interval must match the process’s need for timely data while staying within the mechanical duty cycle of the bucket drive. Site conditions such as dust, moisture, and voltage supply inform the control box and motor specification.
